Aiming higher: creating the best publicly funded board in the country

My name is Jared, and I live near Monarch Park in Toronto. My kids have attended Roden Public School for the past five years, and I’ve been active on the parent council since 2023, where I currently serve as Co-Chair. I work hard to build effective relationships and support capacity building and grassroots advocacy. Fairness, equity and student achievement are the cornerstones of my outlook.

I'm passionate about childhood development, and firmly believe in the power of well funded public education. I dream of a world where we prioritize our kids' educational experiences as much as we prioritize economic development, housing, transportation infrastructure or other major priorities. 

I have nearly 20 years of non-profit leadership experience, establishing Cycle Toronto as the voice for cyclists in Toronto, successfully advocating for protected bike lanes on Richmond, Adelaide, Bloor and Danforth, distributing millions of dollars in COVID-19 relief support for main street businesses and effectively managing and growing the impact of Green Communities Canada in my current role of Managing Director. I've worked on a variety of road safety campaigns including School Travel Planning and School Streets.
